Who Do You think Is Going To Be Leading The Hockey Pool Going Into The All-Star Break?

What Grinds My Gears. Volume 1 Issue #1
Every week I will answer that question anew and bring to your attention something in the hockey world that really grinds my gears, ticks me off, makes me steam. This week I have to say the thing that ground my gears was the disallowed goal in the Phoenix-Dallas game. The break away was clean, the deke phenomenal, the shot excellent, the goalie beat, and the goal......Called back? The whole play was completely clean Sanderson had Turco beat 9 ways from Tuesday and everyone agreed, it was a goal...A pretty one to boot. But wait!! The replay was shown up on the jumbotron and something caught the eye of Dallas' coach. That puck didn't enter the net, it didn't cross the line, it drilled the crossbar...Without as much as a *tink* *clink* or *ding*. Impossible, right, he's making this up...That's what I thought. But when I saw the replay it did indeed hit the crossbar and was obviously not a goal. My problem is this: The "goal" was not contested until well after it was "scored" and everyone, officials, players, fans, coaches, and goalies alike, were sure that that puck went in. Therefore, the puck should have been dropped promptly and it wasn't, I want to know why. Had it been dropped when it was supposed to have been dropped, the goal would have stood, yes it would have been a terrible mistake on the part of the referee, but none the less it should have stood. Everyone would have cried for a little while but we all would have gotten over it. This is why I hate video goal judging. If the officials on the ice agree that it is a legitimate, legal goal, then let their word stand, don't bring in video replays to try and prove them wrong because one loudmouth decided to whine about it. I say, its the Ref's word or bust, if they make a mistake...Suck it up, princess.

yes yes yes yes yes
I AGREE!
Oooo Good Call Jacob...
I think Video replay should be checked if it's one of those iffy goals before the point is given.
that was a pretty good call there Jacob, about the best thing you have said so far in this hockey pool
If it was that exact situation, game 7 in the playoffs habs and ducks, and that exact goal was scored, and the initial call was that it was a goal and noone was the wiser, fine, i'll take it, humans are imperfect and make mistakes
